Lake Barcroft
I was raised in Lake Barcroft, and as a child it never occurred to me that most children growing up in the DC metro area did not have a 135- acre lake to swim and fish in. I thought that everyone walked down their street and knew all their neighbors’ names. It seemed completely natural to head down to one of the beautiful five sandy beaches and see a friend or two and play. As an adult I realized that Lake Barcroft is more than a neighborhood, it is a lifestyle.
