“I was raised in Lake Barcroft, and as a child it never occurred to me that most children growing up in the DC metro area did not have a 135- acre lake to swim and fish in. I thought that everyone walked down their street and knew all their neighbors’ names. It seemed completely natural to head down to one of the beautiful five sandy beaches and see a friend or two and play. As an adult I realized that Lake Barcroft is more than a neighborhood, it is a lifestyle.”

Welcome to I love Lake Barcroft

My fondest memories of childhood are from growing up in this neighborhood on Grasshill Terrace. Since I returned to Lake Barcroft with my own family four years ago, my love of this community has only grown as I am constantly reminded of why I live here- 5 am fishing on the Lake before work; taking the kids down the street to the beach so they can swim in the Lake and dig in the sand; multiple social groups with every type of event imaginable from music concerts and art shows to disco parties and boating events on the Lake. There are holiday parades and the second largest fireworks display in the DC metropolitan area right here as well, and you can easily find one of almost anything you could ever need or want from the neighborhood listserv. Yes, the Lake makes this community unique, but it is the people who choose to embrace the Lake lifestyle of this neighborhood that really make this an exceptional place to live.

I love this community so much that I chose to use my time to start a real estate website exclusively devoted to this wonderful hidden gem I call home so that other Lake lovers could also share in the love and reap the benefits of my neighborhood-specific real estate knowledge. Overzealous? Maybe a little? Snobby? Not my intention at all. Helpful and practical? I hope so. My desire is to share my love of this community with others like myself, because I know everyone who lives here, loves it here, for different reasons. Lake Barcroft is unique in many ways. Our homes come in lots of different styles and many have been updated and expanded in beautiful ways while others need some modern adjustments.

When talking to neighbors I often hear about how they knew they wanted to buy in Lake Barcroft because of the amenities and the location, but quickly realized that they would have to purchase the best home available and make it perfectly fit their needs so that they had the ideal home in the ideal location.

The two most consistent aspects of my life have always been real estate sales and living in Lake Barcroft, so now I have found a way to meld those two loves together into one resource, for the benefit of many. I really enjoy working with clients and showing them the important things pertaining to real estate. There are things that cannot be changed, things like location and things that can be changed, like paint, decking, kitchens and with some work even layout.
